Description
Polysulphide toner for warm brown to reddish yellow image tones with direct toning.
After polychromatic development (Lith & Siena developer, or Lith & Pyrocatechol), colours between yellow and blue can be achieved.
Indirect toning (after bleaching) is possible, whereby only weak bleaching should be used. The bleached areas show a reddish-yellow tone after toning.
Shelf life and capacity are extremely high. Dilutions up to 1+30 can be kept for several months. Only at very high throughput (more than 50 prints 24×30 per litre of 1+20) is a slight colour shift to a purer yellow tone and a slower toning process noticeable. The reason for this is a drop in the pH value. The toner can be regenerated by adding an alkali such as soda or potash, or a few drops of toner concentrate.
Dilution: For normal application 1+20 to 1+100, for multi-coloured toning up to 1+500 or more.
Caution: Polysulphide toners are still effective in extremely high dilutions! Toning will therefore continue during rinsing; this is particularly noticeable with warm tone emulsions. To stop the toning process, a 10% sulphite bath can be used after rinsing with several changes of water. As an alternative to a sulphite solution, our soaking aid (diluted 1+1 to 1+3) can be used for this purpose.
